Shujian is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Nexus BioStrategy, bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience advancing agricultural biotechnology innovations from scientific discovery through translational development and commercialization. Throughout his career spanning academia, government, startups, and industry, he has built multidisciplinary teams, secured competitive funding, forged strategic partnerships, and led programs that accelerate the development of next-generation biological crop protection technologies.

His expertise spans RNA, peptides, microbial products, phytochemicals, gene editing, bioanalytics, translational science, and regulatory strategy support, providing a unique perspective across the innovation lifecycle. Known for connecting scientific innovation with business strategy, Shujian advises companies, investors, and research organizations on technology assessment, development pathways, scientific due diligence, strategic partnerships, and commercialization readiness.

Motivated by a passion for bridging the gap between breakthrough science and agricultural impact, Shujian founded Nexus BioStrategy to help organizations translate scientific discoveries into commercial solutions. Beyond consulting, Shujian is an active industry leader, speaker, and writer dedicated to advancing the agricultural biotechnology community. He serves on the American Phytopathological Society (APS) Annual Meeting Board, is Private Sector Relations Officer and a member of the APS Professional Development Committee, and previously served as Chair of the APS Industry Committee. He also serves as Vice President of Public Relations for the North Carolina Chinese Business Association. Through these leadership roles, international conference presentations, his podcast AgBio Dialogues, and his Substack publication Cultivated Insight, he shares practical perspectives on innovation, leadership, strategic partnerships, and the future of sustainable agriculture.
